Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae)

I have seen quite a few Gulf Fritillary butterflies in Atlanta. They seem to be quite common throughout the summer and into the fall.

The top photo displayed on this page was taken on 28 September 2003 in Midtown Atlanta, GA. The second photo was taken on 27 July 2003 at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, GA. The third photo features a Gulf Fritillary butterfly sipping the nectar of a Lantana flower, and was taken on 26 September 2004 in Midtown Atlanta, GA.
