I am encouraged by early sightings, that 2006 will be a great year for butterflies!

I saw several butterflies this morning as I was out walking the neighborhood. Most of the Eastern Tiger Swallowtails I spotted were on the move, with a few up in the treetops. This fellow stopped for a minute to bask in the sun and warm his wings, letting me grab a quick photo.

Not my best photo, but I am sure that I will have many more opportunities as the weather grows warmer.
